ECU FINE ARTS CENTER THEATRE SEATS UP FOR ‘ADOPTION’
The seats in the state-of-the-art theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center now under construction at East Central University have been put up for “adoption.”
The ECU Foundation Inc. is looking for seat sponsors to adopt the seats at $200 each to help match a $600,000 challenge grant from the Inasmuch Foundation that will help complete the fine arts center. A challenge grant must be met dollar-for-dollar before the funds are awarded.

To recognize each $200 donor, a plaque will be permanently mounted on a chair in the theatre in the name of the donor, organization or person the donor may choose to honor. The plaques may be a maximum of two lines and/or 50 characters.
Sponsoring a seat is not tied to admission to any event or a guarantee of any priority seating, so all contributions will be fully tax deductible, she said.
The fine arts center has been lauded as by community leaders as a venue that can draw world-class entertainment and cultural opportunities to the community. It also will have an art gallery and sculpture garden as well as classrooms, studios and practice rooms for the communication, art and music programs.

With headquarters in Oklahoma City, the Inasmuch Foundation was established in 1982 by Edith

Kinney Gaylord for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.

The ECU Alumni Association has established the Student Alumni College Enhancement Fund to provide financial support to ECU students when opportunities arise which will enhance their educational/vocational experience and costs are not covered by institutional funds or student fees. The purpose of the fund is to enhance student education and training by enabling students to participate in special activities such as conferences, seminars, lectures, contests, internships (non-degree, non-course) and classroom projects while representing and bringing credit to the University.
