Several Camps and Clinics Set for ECU Athletics This Summer

ADA – Several East Central University athletic programs will be offering camps and clinics this summer for varying age groups. The Tigers will have basketball, soccer and softball clinics starting in June.

Events start with the first of five softball clinics, Tuesday, June 9th for the Tiger Softball Middle School Skills ClinicGet Acrobat Reader for girls entering 5th-9th grades.  The cost is $100 and will run from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Tiger Field and designed for the instruction and development of fundamental skills.  The registration deadline in June 6th.

The softball program will also host an Advanced Exposure Defensive ClinicGet Acrobat Reader, Tuesday, June 16th for girls entering 9th-12th grades.  The cost is $100 and will run from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Tiger Field.  The clinic is designed for the advanced softball player who wants to play at the collegiate level, with instruction on the defensive aspects of the game.

The next day the Tigers will host an Advanced Exposure Offensive ClinicGet Acrobat Reader (June 17th) for girls entering 9th-12th grades.  The cost is $100 and will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  The clinic is designed for advanced players, with instruction on the offensive aspects of the game.

From 2-4 p.m. June 17th the clinic will then move to an Advanced Exposure Pitching/Catching ClinicGet Acrobat Reader. The cost is $100 or $50 for those that participated in either the defensive or offensive clinics. The registration deadline for all advanced clinics is June 13.

The softball clinics will wrap up Tuesday, June 23 with an Elementary School Skills ClinicGet Acrobat Reader for girls entering 1-4thgrades.  The cost is $100 and will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tiger Field.  The clinic is designed for the instruction and development of fundamental skills and has a registration deadline of June 20.

All softball clinics have limited space in the clinic so applications will be accepted on a first come basis.  Each participant must complete the Registration Form and Medical Consent/Indemnification FormGet Acrobat Reader.

The ECU soccer program will also be hosting an Elite ID Camp, Get Acrobat ReaderSaturday, June 13th from10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for girls entering 9th-12th grades at the ECU Soccer field.  The cost is $60 and includes lunch, a campus tour and two training sessions.  Participants can register by mail with the attached form or online.

Saturday, June 20th the ECU men's basketball team will host the first of three schools at the Kerr Activities Center.  The day is for Fathers and sons, with the cost being $50 for a father/son pair and $10 for each addition son.  The school will run from 1-4 p.m.

Men's basketball schools continue Monday, July 13th with an Elite Basketball School for boys entering 9th-12th grads.  The cost is $50 per participant and includes a t-shirt.  The school will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Men's basketball will also host a Tiger Basketball School for 3rd-8th graders, July 13-15.  Grades 3rd-5th will get instruction each day from 9 a.m. to noon, with grades 6th-8th have sessions from 1-4 p.m.

The ECU women's basketball program will also host a Tiger Youth Hoops Clinic, July 20-22 at the Kerr Activities Center for those entering 1st-8th grades.  The clinic cost is $70 and includes a t-shirt, awards and prizes.

Grades 1st-4th will have a morning session each day from 9-noon with grades 5th-8th participating in an afternoon session from 1-4 p.m.  Registration for the women's basketball clinics can be completed online at eastcentralhoopsclinic.com.
