ECU receives $255K grant ADA — East Central University received a $255,000 grant to train and place as many as 200 workers in jobs related to energy efficiency and renewable energy. Free courses, sponsored by the Southern Oklahoma Green Jobs Training Consortium, will be offered in Ada, Ardmore and Durant. The first training session will start Saturday and continue the next two Saturdays. It is open to up to 20 participants. Other training is planned throughout the year. Event focuses on aviation ADA — Students in third through eighth grades are invited to participate in East Central University’s annual Kaleidoscope Conference on Friday. The theme of this year’s event is Pearl Carter Scott, who learned to fly from Wiley Post when she was 12. Paul Lambert, an ECU alumnus and former director of the Oklahoma Heritage Association, will discuss his book called "Never Give Up: The Life of Pearl Carter Scott.” The conference costs $25.
